Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) communicated his concerns to Secretary of Defense Austin and Army Secretary Wormuth through a letter. The correspondence was primarily about the recurrent cancellations of briefings that were planned to address the alleged diversion of funds from the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) at Fort Novosel.
Moore stated, "As the Member of Congress representing Fort Novosel, it is my Constitutional duty to ensure the transparency and accountability of federal funding and provide answers to my constituents." He further highlighted the significance of Fort Novosel in national security as it trains most of the Army's aviators and also contributes thousands of jobs to the local community.
The Congressman mentioned that hundreds of constituents have expressed their worries over this issue. "It is unacceptable that they have waited weeks to get answers from the Army about Fort Novosel's funding," he added. Moore demanded an explanation for the cancellation of previous briefings and immediately requested a formal briefing regarding these rumors.
He concluded by emphasizing that his constituents, who work at and contribute to the training at Fort Novosel, deserve answers about its funding situation.
