Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) introduced the Stopping Traffickers and Their Accomplices (STRATA) Act in Washington, D.C. This legislation mandates that abortion providers be aware of trafficking indicators and report suspected victims to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. The bill is co-sponsored by several representatives and has received support from various organizations including Heritage Action for America, National Right to Life, Students for Life Action, Concerned Women for America, and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.

"For too long, abortion has been a tool for traffickers to continue their abuse of women and girls," said Moore. "This legislation ensures abortion providers know how to spot the signs of human trafficking and report trafficking when they see it so these victims can get help and traffickers can be brought to justice."

Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America and Students for Life Action added her voice in support of the act. She highlighted the known connection between human and sex traffickers with the abortion industry which she believes needs to be stopped to protect women caught in the crossfire.

Janae Stracke, Vice President of Outreach and Advocacy at Heritage Action also supported the bill stating that abortion facilities should be legally required to protect victims rather than aiding traffickers by ignoring abuse.

Carol Tobias, President of National Right to Life applauded Rep. Moore for introducing the STRATA Act. She stated that evidence shows women often feel pressured or coerced into seeking an abortion.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America emphasized on ending the partnership between traffickers and the abortion industry as an important step towards eradicating this evil.

The Honorable Marilyn Musgrave, Vice President of Government Affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America stressed on holding accountable those abortion businesses that do not report suspected trafficking cases.
