Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore has voiced his opposition to proposed cuts to Medicare Advantage plans. In a joint effort with Rep. Virginia Foxx and 45 colleagues, Moore penned a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services expressing their concerns.
Medicare Advantage plans have been a source of relief for many seniors, offering lower costs, out-of-pocket spending limits, improved care coordination, and additional benefits like dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage—all without extra premiums.
"Thanks to Biden's 17.9% inflation tax, Alabama seniors are already struggling to make ends meet on a fixed income,” said Moore. "Cuts to Medicare Advantage take more of their hard-earned money and leave them with fewer healthcare options."
The impact of these proposed cuts on seniors, especially in the face of existing financial challenges, has raised alarm among lawmakers like Rep. Moore. The letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services signifies a united front against changes that could potentially burden older Americans.
As discussions around healthcare policy continue, the focus on maintaining support for programs like Medicare Advantage remains a crucial point of contention for legislators like Rep. Barry Moore.
