Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore has shown his support for appropriations transparency by co-sponsoring the Appropriations Transparency Act, introduced by Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI). This act aims to enhance transparency in the appropriations process by amending the Congressional Budget Act.
The legislation proposed by Rep. Grothman seeks to remove the exception from appropriations bills that receive scores from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). By requiring a CBO score for all appropriations bills, the American public will have access to analysis and reports on the true cost of these bills.
In expressing his support for the bill, Rep. Barry Moore emphasized the importance of transparency in government spending. He stated, "When Congress considers bills that spend billions and trillions in taxpayer dollars, the American people deserve to know the truth about what is in those bills." Moore also extended his gratitude to Rep. Grothman for leading this initiative, saying, "I thank Rep. Grothman for spearheading this legislation that ensures transparency during the appropriations process."
The push for appropriations transparency is crucial in ensuring accountability and informed decision-making in government spending. With Rep. Moore's endorsement of the Appropriations Transparency Act, there is a growing momentum towards greater openness and clarity in the allocation of taxpayer funds.
