Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore's efforts to address drunk driving incidents involving illegal immigrants have progressed as Senator Bill Hagerty introduced the Senate version of his bill, the Protecting Our Communities from DUIs Act. This legislative move comes in response to concerns over the handling of such cases under the current administration.
"In the United States, someone dies in a crash with an impaired driver every 45 minutes. I lost two of my young newlywed constituents to an illegal immigrant driving under the influence of alcohol, and thanks to Biden's open border policies, these tragedies are growing," expressed Representative Moore, highlighting the personal impact of these incidents and the need for stricter measures.
Senator Hagerty echoed these sentiments, stating, "Our nation is seeing a surge in violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants, and they are not being held accountable." He emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions and ensuring the safety of American citizens.
The introduction of the Protecting Our Communities from DUIs Act aims to address these concerns by deporting illegal immigrants caught driving under the influence, providing a legislative framework to strengthen accountability and protect communities from potential harm.
The collaboration between Rep. Barry Moore and Senator Bill Hagerty reflects a shared commitment to enhancing public safety and addressing the challenges posed by illegal immigration in the United States.
