Washington, D.C. - In a bold move, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted in favor of H.Res.863, a resolution introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for high crimes and misdemeanors. Regrettably, the resolution did not pass, receiving 214 yeas and 216 nays.
Expressing his stance on the matter, Rep. Moore stated, "Secretary Mayorkas has willfully refused to comply with immigration laws already on the books designed to protect the American people, and all he has to offer are lies and half-hearted apologies. Americans have had enough."
Moore continued by highlighting the dire consequences of Mayorkas's alleged failures, stating, "Mayorkas invited an invasion at our southern border that has led to nearly 10 million illegal encounters, more than 85,000 migrant children lost by our government, and fentanyl overdose deaths quadrupling in the last three years as drugs pour across our southern border. It's time for him to be held accountable for his failures."
Amidst this battle against what Moore describes as Biden's border crisis, he has been actively working to address the issue. Moore's efforts include supporting legislation to end Biden's border crisis and questioning Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas on failed border policies.
Moore's dedication to border security is evident in his statement, "No border security, no government funding." He firmly believes that the nation's security should not be compromised, and border security is paramount.
The congressman has been vocal about his concerns over the current administration's immigration policy. Moore went as far as to claim, "This administration is engaged in trafficking slaves to our country," reflecting his strong opposition to what he perceives as a flawed approach to immigration.
To gain first-hand knowledge and insights, Rep. Moore even traveled to the southern border, witnessing the situation himself. This experience further solidified his determination to address the border crisis.
While H.Res.863 did not successfully impeach Secretary Mayorkas, Rep. Barry Moore's unwavering support for border security and his efforts to hold officials accountable continue to make an impact. As the debate on immigration policies and border security rages on, Moore remains a prominent figure fighting for the interests of the American people.
