U.S. Representative Barry Moore from Alabama has weighed in on a recent Inspector General report regarding the location choice for the U.S. Space Command Headquarters. In his statement, Moore asserted that "an objective and rigorous process ranked Huntsville as the top choice for Space Command Headquarters." He criticized the Biden Administration for relocating the Command to Colorado Springs, calling the decision "purely political and not based in merit."
According to Moore, the Inspector General's report supports his view and indicates that the decision was not in alignment with merit-based assessment. "The report from the Inspector General confirms this and proves what we have known all along - that Space Command belongs in Alabama," Moore stated. He emphasized his intent to collaborate with other Alabama delegation members to ensure that future national security decisions are made with the nation's best interests at heart.
