Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) has announced his support for the DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act, a bill introduced by Rep. Pfluger (R-TX). The legislation aims to prevent Department of Homeland Security funds from being allocated to American universities that host Confucius Institutes or maintain relationships with Chinese entities of concern, including the Chinese Communist Party.
"Confucius Institutes at American universities are nothing more than an extension of the CCP's global apparatus used to impact the decisions of these institutions and spy on the United States," said Moore. "Schools that choose to maintain a relationship with the CCP through these institutes are putting the national security of our country at risk and should not receive taxpayer funding."
