Rep. Barry Moore has expressed concerns over the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) recent expansion of facial recognition technology at 430 airports across the United States. In a letter to TSA Administrator Pekoske, Moore was joined by Rep. Andy Biggs and Rep. Warren Davidson in requesting a written explanation within thirty calendar days on how TSA determined it should expand this technology.

“Asking every American to consent to a face scan before getting on an airplane is a slippery slope that could pose a significant threat to our privacy and civil liberties,” said Moore. “My colleagues and I want to know more about the reasoning behind TSA's decision so we can ensure these technologies are implemented in a way that balances national security interests with the rights and freedoms guaranteed to American citizens."
