Rep. Barry Moore supports Interior and Environment Appropriations Bill
Washington, D.C. - Rep. Barry Moore has endorsed the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025. The bill aims to reduce federal spending while enhancing domestic energy production. It requests $38.478 billion in funding, which is $72 million less than last year's budget, reflecting House Republicans' commitment to fiscal responsibility.
The bill mandates the resumption of oil and gas lease sales and expands access to critical minerals, aiming to strengthen energy independence and create jobs. It also blocks several costly EPA regulations, intending to help American businesses remain competitive without excessive government interference.
"From the oil fields of Midland to the Gulf Coast of Alabama, we need to unleash American energy and rein in wasteful spending," said Moore. "This legislation helps bring back fiscal responsibility and allows us to tap into our own resources and create more jobs, lower energy costs, and pave the way for a more prosperous America."
The FY25 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill includes:
- $8.43 billion for the U.S. Forest Service, which is $53.3 million above the FY24 enacted level but $492.8 million below the President’s Budget Request.
- A 20% reduction in funding for the EPA.
- Measures to rein in what it describes as the Biden Administration’s job-killing regulatory agenda.
- Prohibitions on modifications to Corps of Engineers nationwide permits critical for oil and gas development.
- Provisions aimed at strengthening national security and promoting domestic energy production.
- Protections for access to public lands.
- Support for American values and principles.
- A focus on core responsibilities of the Executive Branch.
