Washington, D.C. - In a bold move to address the ongoing border crisis, Rep. Barry Moore has signed the Immigration Accountability Project's 2024 Border Crisis Member Pledge. This pledge signifies Moore's commitment to refuse voting for government funding until the southern border of the United States is secure.

The pledge, supported by the Immigration Accountability Project, stipulates that Rep. Moore will only support funding for the federal government's operations and any supplemental bills if the President signs legislation that will effectively secure the border. This legislation includes measures such as detaining all illegal aliens during the adjudication process, implementing expedited removal, or returning them to Mexico.

Rep. Moore expressed his concerns about the escalating situation at the border, stating, "Last month alone, the United States witnessed 302,000 illegal border crossings, the highest number in our entire history -- this is an invasion." He further emphasized his stance, saying, "I will not fund a woke, weaponized, and wasteful government that is targeting the American people and allows dangerous criminals, child traffickers, and fentanyl traffickers to pour into our country and endanger American families."

Highlighting the efforts made by House Republicans, Rep. Moore mentioned the passage of H.R.2, which he believes to be the strongest border security bill in history. However, he expressed disappointment in President Biden and Majority Leader Schumer for refusing to consider it. He called on fellow Republicans to join him in signing the pledge, emphasizing that their collective support could exert pressure on the Democrats to pass H.R. 2 and fulfill the promises made to the American people.

The border crisis has been a pressing issue, with a significant surge in illegal crossings. Rep. Moore's pledge to withhold government funding until the border is secure reflects the growing frustration among Republicans and their determination to address the issue head-on.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how many Republicans will join Rep. Moore in signing the pledge and whether it will have the desired impact on the Democrats. The urgency to secure the border and protect American families is a priority that both parties must address in order to restore confidence in the nation's immigration system.
