Governor Kay Ivey has authorized flags to be lowered at half-staff immediately in the Alabama State Capitol Complex and on the grounds of all government facilities in Autauga County to honor the life, service, and legacy of Sheriff Joe Sedinger, Autauga County Sheriff's Office. Flags should return to full staff at sunset today, December 27, 2022. Additionally, on the day of his interment, the flags in Autauga County may be flown at half-staff until sunset.
Sheriff Sedinger faithfully served the people of Autauga County for more than 22 years and was set to begin his third term as Autauga County Sheriff on January 16, 2023. Please keep his family and our county in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
