Why did you choose Huntingdon?
I chose Huntingdon because of the exceptional culture and community. I was able to visit and tailgate with the team on a football game day, immediately I felt welcomed and comfortable with the guys on the team. The culture around Huntingdon seemed special and I wanted to be a part of that! Coach Carey's philosophy and knowledge of lacrosse was also key in my choice.
What are your pre-game rituals?
I have always loved listening to music pregame! I will usually listen to a little bit of everything from the Eagles, Kanye West, Greta Van Fleet, and even sometimes Frank Sinatra. I usually get in the locker room early so I can stretch and then shoot and pass some before pregame, just to get extra comfortable before we get out as a team.
What is your favorite place to eat in Montgomery and why?
My favorite place to eat is SaZa's downtown! I come from an Italian family so I grew up eating lots of pasta, lasagna, and pizza and SaZa has a little bit of everything in that group.
Who is your favorite professor and why?
This was a tough question but I think my favorite professor if I had to choose one would be Dr. Clark. I was in his accounting 101 and 102 classes and they were challenging. However I really bought into what Dr. Clark preached about practicing and studying ahead of time. Dr. Clark always supported me greatly, answering my questions, staying after class to make sure I understood a concept. He is someone I look up to as he inspired me not to just work hard to memorize and repeat information but to truly understand concepts and apply them regardless of the fact pattern of variables.
What class challenged you the most and why?
This is a tie for me between Micro and Macroeconomics because each were very similar in their complex concepts and scenarios. There are so many factors that can affect prices, inflation, supply and demand and being able to learn and apply those concepts was challenging at times.
What is your favorite/least Coach Goodyear/Coach Lowery workout?
I always really enjoy when we do lower body movements like squats and cleans. Coach always does a great job of pushing us to be the best we can be and preaches about how important these lifts are and how they translate to the lacrosse field. Having a strong base and balance is extremely important in the sport of lacrosse.
If you could play a second sport at Huntingdon, what would it be and why?
This was an easy answer for me, I would without a doubt play golf. Although I am not very good, golf is something I have grown to love over the past few years. To me it is the hardest sport I've ever played, it's you versus you and you have got to be mentally tough in so many situations. I have a lot of respect for the guys and girls teams here and all the time and effort they put into being a great golfer.
What are your plans after Huntingdon?
I am planning on pursuing a law degree, hopefully at Cumberland Law School at Samford in Birmingham. I am planning on studying all this summer and taking the LSAT in August and applying to different schools through the fall term! Becoming a lawyer has always been something I have been passionate about and I can't wait to pursue this dream.
How did you end up at Huntingdon? Recruiting process, visits, academics, etc.
Coach Carey actually found me on a recruiting website and reached out for me to visit via email! Then I came up for a football gameday tailgate and the rest is history.
How is Huntingdon preparing you for your career?
Huntingdon is preparing me by helping me network and make connections for my future career. I was just able to complete an externship with Shawn Cole who is a lawyer at Hill,Hill, and Carter which is a law firm downtown. I wouldn't have been able to get that opportunity without the CCV and Sherry Leigh's help!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the library for sure! I am a big studier and the library is my place where I am able to really focus and lock in on my work. I love the architecture of the building as well and appreciate all the resources that are available for students there.
