Rep. Barry Moore expressed his support for the American Relief Act of 2025, a Continuing Resolution (CR) that extends government funding through March 14 and offers assistance to producers and communities affected by recent natural disasters.
"I supported this CR because it is a lifeline for producers and disaster victims, providing immediate relief at a critical moment, but the process we went through to get here is a symptom of a broken system," said Moore. "Thanks to President Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy, we stopped a bloated, 1,500-page bill loaded with woke, weaponized and wasteful spending and exchanged it for a 118-page bill that prioritizes Americans in need. Moving forward, we must reject backroom deals and ensure a detailed process to fund the government that actually works for the American people."
The resolution maintains current discretionary spending levels until March 14, 2025. It includes $100 billion in emergency spending for states impacted by natural disasters and $10 billion in economic aid for farmers facing crop loss and other challenges. Additionally, it extends farm bill programs until September 30, 2025.
The National Flood Insurance Program will also be extended through March 14, 2025. Health care programs set to expire are extended through March 31, 2025, funded by reductions in the Medicare Improvement Fund. These include community health centers and other public health initiatives as well as Medicare add-on payments for various providers.
The resolution also addresses scheduled cuts to Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospitals under Obamacare and DEA scheduling authority for fentanyl-related substances.
