Rep. Barry Moore supports SAVE Act to restore confidence in U.S. elections
Jul 10, 2024
Washington, D.C.—Today, Rep. Barry Moore voted in favor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX). This legislation amends the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office. Moore is a co-sponsor of this legislation.
"Since Biden took office, more than eight million illegal aliens have entered our country. In many states, these illegals are eligible for driver's licenses and other benefits, providing ample opportunities to register to vote in federal elections," said Moore.
Speaker Mike Johnson recently crafted a report on the importance of passing the SAVE Act.
"It's common sense that only Americans should vote in American elections, but Democrats want non-citizens to vote because they know most Americans don't support their radical agenda," said Moore. "We cannot allow the Left to manipulate our elections and benefit from the border crisis they have created at the expense of American families."
