Rep. Barry Moore has expressed his support for the Senate-amended version of H.R. 3935, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act, by casting a vote in its favor. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Graves (R-MO), is a $105 billion legislation that proposes significant changes to the aviation industry.
The FAA Reauthorization Act aims to repeal the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for aviation employees and contractors. It also seeks to empower the FAA with the ability to identify technologies that can enhance situational awareness and minimize the risk of runway collisions with other aircraft.
In addition, this legislation mandates airlines to provide refunds to passengers whose flights have been cancelled or delayed by three hours or more if they choose not to accept an alternative flight or voucher.
"This legislation provides critical aviation safety enhancements, grows the workforce by eliminating unconstitutional vaccine mandates, and improves the flying public's travel experience," said Moore. "If the airline cancels a flight or it delays for more than three hours, passengers who don't want a voucher or reschedule can now receive a refund automatically instead of having to spend hours on the phone with the airline."
