Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore has spoken out against the changes in safety standards by the Food and Drug Administration that he believes are endangering women. Moore recently signed an amicus brief in the case of Food and Drug Administration vs. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, urging the Supreme Court to protect women and girls from the risks associated with certain abortion drugs.

According to Moore, the FDA has removed crucial safety standards over the years, including the requirement for only doctors to prescribe high-risk abortion drugs and report all serious complications from their use. This has led to a situation where these drugs are now being sent to women without the oversight of an in-person doctor, resulting in one out of every 25 women who take these drugs ending up in the emergency room.

In a statement, Rep. Barry Moore criticized the Biden Administration for prioritizing abortion to the extent that they are willing to compromise safety standards, stating, "The Biden Administration prioritizes abortion so much that they're willing to compromise safety standards and put women's lives at risk."

Moore also highlighted the concerns raised by the doctors involved in the case, emphasizing their firsthand experience of the severe complications caused by these drugs. He called for the FDA to revert to its original safety standards and to be held accountable for failing in its duty to protect women and girls, stating, "The doctors who brought this case forward are on the front lines of women's health, witnessing the severe complications these drugs have caused for women across America. The FDA needs to return to its original safety standards and should be held accountable for violating its duty to protect women and girls."
