Drew DeMasi of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and July Sosa of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 6-13.
Drew DeMasi (Brewton-Parker – FR – INF – Stone Mountain, Ga.)
· The Barons split four games against Top-12 opponents as DeMasi hit .556 and slugged 1.111, while totaling five hits and seven RBIs
· He went 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBIs v. Georgia Gwinnett and three hits, two doubles and two RBIs in game one v. Middle Georgia
July Sosa (Faulkner – SR – RHP – Bronx, N.Y.)
· Sosa wins the award for the second-straight week
· At Mobile, he struck out eight and allowed only two unearned runs on two hits in a seven-inning complete game effort.
