98 percent of applicants to Alabama State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Alabama State University, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Montgomery enrolled 4,413 students in fall 2018, including 3,903 in undergraduate and 510 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

58 percent of undergraduates are residents of Alabama, and 41 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (94 percent) and white (2 percent).

The school admitted 98 percent of the 7,783 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 14 percent enrolled.
