U.S. Representative Barry Moore has expressed his approval of the Trump Administration’s efforts to secure a $550 million grant for the I-10 Mobile River and Bayway Bridge project. The Department of Transportation has finalized this significant grant, which will enable the Alabama Department of Transportation to commence construction on the new infrastructure.
The project includes plans for a six-lane, cable-stayed bridge over the Mobile River, designed to bypass two older tunnels. Additionally, it will involve constructing new bridges to replace the existing Bayway Bridges that cross Mobile Bay.
Representative Moore stated, “President Trump promised he would build a new I-10 bridge, and with the finalization of this $550 million grant from the Department of Transportation, he is delivering on his promise.” He emphasized the importance of this project as a “critical infrastructure need” with widespread implications not only in Alabama’s First Congressional District but also across Alabama and beyond. Moore expressed eagerness to collaborate with President Trump and other members of Alabama’s delegation to see the project’s completion.
