Today, Representative Barry Moore expressed his support for the No Rogue Rulings Act, a new piece of legislation sponsored by Representative Darrell Issa. The act proposes amendments to Chapter 85 of Title 28 of the United States Code, aimed at limiting the power of federal district courts. Specifically, it seeks to restrict these courts from applying court rulings more broadly than the plaintiffs and defendants who are directly involved.

This legislative move addresses perceived judicial overreach, a concern raised by certain lawmakers about district judges. The argument is that such judges are exerting excessive influence by issuing nationwide injunctions, impacting policies crafted by the presidential administration.

Rep. Moore highlighted these concerns, stating: “Judges across the nation are using their influence and power to issue injunctions over policies set by the President. Simply put, the role of the judiciary is not to legislate from the bench but instead be an independent voice that interprets the law as it is written.” He further emphasized his support for the legislation, saying, “I am proud to support Rep. Issa’s No Rogue Rulings Act to rein in judges who are abusing their power.”

The bill can be accessed for further details through the appropriate channels.
