Today, Representative Barry Moore from Alabama introduced the Define to Defeat Act of 2025. The proposed legislation seeks to incorporate the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism into the enforcement of civil rights laws.

Moore emphasized the importance of this measure by stating, “From the halls of our college campuses to the halls of our government, hatred toward the Jewish people has no place in America.” He further explained that his bill aims to ensure federal agencies have a clear and consistent definition of antisemitism, which would aid in identifying, confronting, and prosecuting criminal behavior related to antisemitism when necessary.

The need for clarity in the judicial system is highlighted by Moore as essential to addressing what he describes as “record-breaking levels of disturbing antisemitic attacks” across the nation.
