Rep. Barry Moore has expressed his support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act by voting in its favor. The legislation, introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), is designed to fortify the laws limiting voting in federal elections to U.S. citizens.

The SAVE Act aims to ensure that only citizens vote by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration in federal elections. It also mandates the removal of non-citizens from voter rolls, offering states the resources needed for this task.

The measure has drawn criticism from Democrats, who argue that these requirements could hinder voter registration. However, supporters point out that many states issue driver’s licenses and other benefits to undocumented individuals, which could facilitate unlawful voter registration.

Moore has voiced his opinion on the matter, stating: “It’s common sense that only Americans should vote in American elections, but Democrats want non-citizens to vote because they know most Americans don’t support their radical agenda,” he said. “We cannot allow the Left to manipulate our elections and benefit from the many crises they have created at the expense of American families.”
