There were two gas stations in cities across Elmore County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $2.35 per gallon in the week ending Jan. 3, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $2.48 per gallon for regular gas.
Of the 66 reported gas stations located within Elmore County, 34 offered regular gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of regular gas in Alabama was $2.51, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
