Nighttime resurfacing work on SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur is set to commence on the evening of Sunday, June 8, subject to weather conditions. The project, valued at $3.3 million, will be carried out by Grayson Carter and Son. It involves resurfacing nearly five miles of SR-67 from US-31/Sixth Avenue Southeast to SR-24/Gordon Terry Parkway.
Motorists should prepare for lane closures between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., from Sunday nights through Thursday nights. Despite the closures, at least one lane in each direction will remain open throughout the duration of the project. The initial phase of the project will focus on milling and paving SR-67 from US-31 to Danville Road. Once this segment is substantially completed, work will proceed to resurface the remaining section from Danville Road to SR-24. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) expects the project to be completed by early fall.
