Flashback Friday: Congratulations to Penguin Robotics, the state champion in the VEX IQ Middle School Division for the second year in a row!

Penguin Robotics is Abraham Yang of Baldwin Arts and Academics Magnet and his siblings, fifth grader Johanna Yang and third grader Elijah Yang of Forest Avenue Academic Magnet. They are now ranked first in Alabama, 10th in the nation, and 23rd in the world!

A total of 76 of Alabama’s best middle school teams competed in the 2023 Alabama State VEX IQ Championship, hosted by SCORE at Auburn University. The Penguins are qualified for and will compete at the U.S. Open in March and the World Championship in May, representing Alabama.
