On Tuesday, April 1, former Holtville High School standout Sam Silas’ current college team, the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, won 12-6 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Alabama State Hornets.

The game took place at Wheeler–Watkins Baseball Complex. This was their first matchup against the Hornets this season.

The Gamecocks’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field against Kennesaw State Owls.
