U.S. Representative Barry Moore has expressed his support for the Gulf of America Act, a legislative measure he co-sponsored alongside Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green. The act aims to solidify an executive order by former President Trump, which proposed renaming the Gulf of Mexico as part of a move to emphasize American sovereignty over this key body of water.
The legislation requires federal agencies to initiate changes in official maps, educational resources, and navigational charts to incorporate the new name. This effort underscores the strategic and economic importance of the region.
Moore commented on the significance of this action: “I proudly represent a district on the Gulf of America, which plays a vital role in our economy, energy independence, and national security,” adding his support for Trump’s initiative to rename the gulf in honor of the nation.
