Congressman Barry Moore of Alabama has joined as a cosponsor for the Bridge Investment and Modernization Act of 2025. This bipartisan legislation, introduced by Representatives Shomari Figures and Mike Ezell, aims to reauthorize the Bridge Investment Program through 2031. It seeks to eliminate restrictions that previously allowed only one large grant per state under the program.
The bill intends to streamline federal funding for bridge projects, such as the I-10 Bridge and Bayway Project, ensuring they receive necessary resources for completion. The legislation promises quicker and more efficient repairs and upgrades to bridges nationwide.
Representatives Figures and Ezell have also submitted this act into the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Portal for consideration in an upcoming reauthorization package expected later this year or early next year.
“Alabama’s economy depends on strong roads and bridges to transport goods, support businesses, and connect our communities,” said Moore. “I’m proud to support this bill, which makes critical reauthorizations to move federal dollars where they’re needed most while cutting the bureaucratic red tape we see so often in Washington.”
Moore emphasized that the bill will facilitate continued investments in American infrastructure and advance projects like the I-10 Bridge and Bayway Project in Mobile. He stated his commitment to working with President Trump and Transportation Secretary Duffy on delivering a new I-10 bridge.
