The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced the closure of the Welcome Center on I-20 westbound near Milepost 213. The closure is scheduled to begin on the morning of June 9th. This facility is set for renovation, addition, new lighting, and resurfacing.
The Welcome Center will remain closed until the project is completed, which is estimated to be in February 2027. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly and are reminded to observe work zone signs and exercise caution in this area.
